Jonathan Dellago

In my artistic practice, I explore the surrounding landscapes and aim to get lost in them. My interest lies in the relationship we develop with the scenery while we travel and how the speed at which we move affects our bodies and our thoughts.

As a first step, I take long walks or bike excursions which allow my body to set the pace of the movement, which although could be perceived as a limit of the body, actually allows a deeper investigation of a place.

The collected impressions during the trips then trigger an engagement, which is materialized either directly on site or at a later point in my workshop. Casting techniques allow to move shapes and textures from their place of origin into the studio where they get transformed into objects.
